Annual Spring Issues Conference

The annual spring workshop for OEA-SEOEA members will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at the OU Inn, 331 Richland Avenue, Athens, Ohio 45701.

The topics for the Workshop Include:

FERPA Laws & New Evaluations – OEA Education Consultant Ellen Adoranetto will provide an update the latest changes in FERPA. What is it? What’s has changed? What can we do in order to protect ourselves, when writing letters of recommendations? The evaluation system is changing again, is it to our benefit, is it fair?

NEA Member Benefits – Sharlie Trentman information on what is available to you as OEA members and able to save you money!

How to prepare for retirement, no matter what stage of your career! STRS representative ~ Hope Short: Will give us an overview on what to plan for and what we need to do to make our transitions to retirement as smoothly as possible. We can know our options of when we can retire, with what benefits, etc.

Panel Discussion about energizing our members after Janus. Locals represented Southern Local Education Association, Meigs Local Teachers Association, Wolf Creek Education Association, and Logan Education Association.

There will be drawings for gift cards and other prizes conducted throughout the conference.

Registration fee is $15, which will be refunded to SEOEA members at the provided lunch (scheduled at noon.) So – this is basically a FREE workshop to members!!

Registration begins at 8:30 AM and a continental breakfast will be provided. Workshop starts at 9:00AM. Please make checks payable to SEOEA.
